Any suggestions or crits would be much appreciated.

A little vague, perhaps the nature of the image ( harsh sun backlight?) could allow for the blurred effect, but I would like to see a cleaned up version with some more detail. Perhaps a more open pose? The character sort of reminds me of Warhammer creatures.

agreed on the previous poster.
i really like what you have going here, just want it to be in focus :)
right now he looks more like snow rather than ice?

More ice, less creature. He looks like a GWAR reject.

Cheesy band.

I don't mean it's bad or anything just the style reminds me of them.

hey, very cool image, interesting texture to handle to say the least, it'd be neat if you tightened up the parts of the creature that were closest to us to create some depth perhaps :P, looks neat though :P

Hey Dom, I was thinking about the exact thing you were talking about actually. In this next version I tried to push some areas back more than I had in the previous versions.

It reminds me more of "Snow Creature" than "Ice C..."
if you want it to look more of Ice, I think image needs to be crisper, instead of being sharpened on filter (I think that's what you are doing, I could be wrong) ;)

The blue background doesn't look right. Try a hazy white-gray background, like the clouds of a snowstorm.
Also, try to put in a few strategically placed sharp edges in the piece to give it more definition.
