Nice, seems too even in areas though, in terms of value and softness, Id like to see some areas simplified together more into specific value ranges, and some brought out by contrast for a nice focal area. Its all even except the belt, which is darker than the rest and stands out, doesnt make sense to have the belt stand out to me. DO what you did to the belt, but in certain areas to attract interest and move the eye. More depth.
The reflections in the belt dont match the light source in the eyes.. Doesnt seem consistent, assuming they are both shiny materials relecting the light. Judging by the light source in the eyes, maybe a stronger highlights along those edges facing the light.
Im also a stickler for light sources...ambient light is good in certain situations, but i like at lease one nice direct key light to define the forms better.
Regardless, I like his design! He looks kinda dorky, which is funny. Maybe a more descriptive pose.
Nice :)

Thanks for the feed back! :) I agree with you, I like one stable light source as well, and its funny you mentioned the belt, I guess no one else noticed or cared, but the hip and shoulder belts as well as the the staff of the walking stick are untouched pencils....I left them for two resons, Lazy and two it looked kind of strange the way the belt looked like it was added to the painting when in reality everything around the belt was added. Iwill finish of the belt and see what it looks like , and fix a few things hear and there, I was origionaly just going to leave it, but not if it has a negative effect on the overall light source, which now that I look at it,.. it does :) thanks again for the help ;)
