What its about is that every piece of "art" on that site is a cut and paste job. Anything about any of them that you liked was probably thanks to Maxfield Parrish , Waterhouse, Patrick Woodroffe, Copley, David, Messonier, Moreau, Boris (and those are just the obvious ones that jumped out at me skimming the site), or some photographer. And then he turns around and posts this (http://www.howarddavidjohnson.com/stages.htm) "oil painting demo".

Ok, whay in the hell would anyone waste their time painting this? Frame the reference photo. A classic example of illustration with no character or flair. Having said that, there is a huge market Im sure for his work. The same old grey hired ladies that collect barn scenes and cows for their living room. I refer to my earlier post...study Jeff Jones if you like this type of art. More character, more style, more fliar, more complete draftsmanship. A real artist, and not a tracer. http://www.howarddavidjohnson.com causes my eyes to bleed. Please make it stop.

Check out the "process" page I posted. I don't think he's wasting his time painting anything. (He is, however, wasting the time of anyone who thinks they're actually going to get some useful painting information from his site.)
