I decided to spend some extry time I don't have and add some color to the chimera piece I posted in "Finished" forum. I'll be posting some updates and changes as I go. I'm not sure how long it will take me to finish due to my other projects going on.
hope you like it so far.

ooooooooohh this is looking great
waht if there were more pebbles/rocks flying off teh side of the maountain that the cerature swooped by? i think the scene could use some more movement action besides teh characters to help give that feel of it being"right in teh middle of teh action"
reminds me of some of the greek myth books i used to read as a kid---which totally kicks major ass

thanks guys just posting another update. I'll post as many of these as I can to give you as close to step by step that I can.
I'm really challenging myself by doing this because I usually use the chaos method to paint and don'y normally have a structure to my method. But I am trying to change that and by doing it this way it sort of forces me to do it.
in this phase i decided to hold off on the foreground stuff and work on the background, I know I should have done this first, but i didn't. and the magic of Photoshop lets me treat it as if i did. damn i talk too much. i'll shut up and paint.

Yeah, like others said, I think you should add some falling rocks to add a sense of height clastrophobia. But, I really like this, please do the minotaur next.

Just a small detail ( you may have alreayd thought of this) but I would give the clouds a reflected color on the bottoms.. I think it would make them look a bit more dimensional and make the peice better..
BTW - Thanks for the PM :btu:

Sooooo nice . The coloring and pencil work is top notch stuff. I especially like the vibrant colors and transition on the wing.

Looks great though right now the sky blue is a little too electric for my taste. I know it is a WIP though ...

the colours are very primitive. i think they will look better desaturated. i liked the pencils a lot more.

I LOVE IT!!!!!!
What if you leave the man and his side of mountain in dark, desaturate color?
it should seem that the chimera is illuminated from a low sunray.. evrything should seem more realistic..
I love the way you build volumes with colours..

Thanks everyone on your cnc's. It's interesting to see the different opinions on the color preferences.
DragonGX: no problem. hope i helped.
here's another WIP. I might put this away for a few days to get a fresh eye on it.
