Something about this picture seems off to me, and I figured I could get better crits on what that is here than anywhere else. It's done in Photoshop CS, with a tablet.

(Sorry if I'm missing some part of the posting protocol here... this is my first attempt.)

I think the pose is perhaps a little stiff; it looks as though she's blasting a massive fireball, and I would expect to see a more dynamic pose. At the moment I feel she looks a little static. Her left leg also seems to be shorter than the other one, and I don't think her ass is quite right. The beauty of working in Photoshop or Painter is the relative ease to fix any errors you may see.

You might want to check out some books on anatomy and gesture drawing by the likes of Hogarth, Loomis, and Vilppu. I hope this helps.

If you have a very bright source in front of you it tends to give off a larger scale in values. So I think you should make the back part a little darker and front a little brighter, so just up the contrast or something. Also maybe establish where the 2nd light source is coming from.

This is great! But im wondering where the red light source is coming from? the light there is bouncing off everyhing but her head. The Anatomy is almost perfect so no worries there, I just think you should make it look more natural, I mean is she flying or jumping through the air? Think of things like that. This is a great piece and made me smile.

The anatomy of the folded leg looks very uncomfortable. Perhaps its just the lighting but it looks like the foot is resting on the extended leg. It creates an awkward angle with the thigh.

Ah... thanks. I'll take another shot at the legs-- it's not very clear what's going on, especially with the odd lighting (ill-conceived, I know. I'll fix that up too.)

Thank you!
