((I wasn’t sure where to post this question, but I noticed people post all kinds of questions here, so I took a shot. Sorry in advance if it’s in the wrong forum.))

I recently purchased a new notebook for my work, an HP Pavilion dv200z. I’ve started drawing on it but noticed that the colors are wrong, sometimes they are overly tinted in green, sometimes too reddish, but I cannot see this until the work is uploaded on any other PC. Here is an example:

The image on the left (yes) is how the colors SHOULD look, and what it did look like on the HP notebook screen as I was drawing it, but the one on the right (no) is how it looks on any other screen, totally wrong and too green!

I’ve never had a problem like this, and have NO clue how to fix it. I’ve contacted the HP service, but they never answered or suggested anything. Has anyone here had the same problem, and if so WHAT should I do?
I’m desperate for an answer, and would greatly appreciate even the most simple thoughts and suggestions.

Thanks for your time,
Natalie

This might not be a hardware problem. Once I saved an image as a *.jpeg while it was still in CMYK mode in Photoshop. That gave me color problems similar to what you're having. So double check to make sure that you're in RGB mode instead of CMYK.

If that isn't the problem, then perhaps there are color display problems with your notebook screen. I'm not sure how to fix that, but I would think that there should be a way for you to manually adjust the color settings.

it sounds to me like it's just a case of laptop screens not being as high quality as you're used to, i have the same problem, the only thing i can recommend is color adjusting your work in photoshop on a regular monitor that's been properly calibrated after you're finished. (really easy to do using the color balance and curves functions, takes about 5 min max)

A. Yes, wrong forum. "Support" means "conceptart.org site problems support."
B. Google monitor calibration.
C. Google Photoshop color management.
D. Realize that no matter what you do, images will look different on different systems.

Yup, it was in RGB, the settings were all correct... and manually adjusting the screen is one thing I’m trying to figure out.

Yes, that's what I do, but it's still a pain as the colors never come out looking half as beautiful and they did on the laptop after so much work of perfecting them 8(

OKs... but where can I post a thread like this one in the future? Photoshop maybe?
And I’ll research those two other points u wrote, thanks!

Thanks a lot for the time and all your suggestions, guys... I’m definitely going to try them out and see what I can do!
