I've been lurking here for a long time, and thought it was time to post something here so I can improve my work.
The talent here is just so intimidating. Next to You I'm less than a shadow... :o Heh.
But, I'm still learning, and have a long way to go, because I'm only 14 (15 in September). :P

Well, I got the scanner back, so I can (finally) post some sketches here. I'll try to post here daily or at least a few times/week...

pretty cool you handle the pencil well. just keep at it!

hehe, I really like the little odd fuzzy creature! One thing I would suggest on the hands is to treat them as you did that creature.. He is really defined by all the shading, while the hands still look a bit tenative. They look pretty accurate to me, I would just like to see them pushed further :) Great work so far!

Hi Spellshaper,

don´t be too frustrated if noone is commenting on the sketchbooks. As you may see a lot of sketchbooks here are just frequently visited - except the really good ones and even more frequently critizise. I personally see this sketchbook-thread more as an inspiration to sketch regularly and not so much for getting critiques.

Furthermore I personally find - especially with my limited english - it quite difficult to crit a sketchbook. Mostly you´ve got a dump of different stuff of different qualities around (at least that´s happening in my own "sketchbook" :)) and it´s difficult to pick one special sketch to critizise.

So one or two overall words to your sketchbook pages. As a Newbie you seem to have a good grip to line and light. I especially like this dodle (giant?) that shows me that you´re on the right way. I think what you have to do is what everybody here has to do more or less. Do lifedrawing (not so much from other drawings) at least from photos, get some good anatomy-books (Loomis is here quite popular www.fineart.sk (http://www.fineart.sk) ) and draw, draw, draw. I think you´re on a good way, it´s "just" a matter of practise and maybe teaching. Try as soon as you´re feeling a bit confident different media (pens, colored pencils, brushes, whatever...) and again: draw!
