I hope to be there on Saturday. I'm torn between Gen Con and San Diego. are you guys going to either? It seems there are more opportunities for freelance gigs at Gen Con.

Sorry to hijack your thread visions.

I'm going all day on Friday. I've only been to one other big convention so it should be interesting.

There's also a lot of lectures, classes, etc. Newsarama had an article listing all the programs and at what times.

Here's the Link:

Looks like were getting an all-star group of people going. I'm really excited, this will be my first comic con. I hope any of you guys still on the fence check out the guest list: Stephen King, Mike Mignola, Neal adams, Stan lee, Frank Cho, David Finch, Kevin Smith, STEVEN COLBERT ... must I keep going? I think not. Anyway, i'll be in all weekend. Looking forward to it.

If you get the Professional pass you can go Friday for a good 4 hours before they let the Peons in. Last year that was the best time to walk around with no hassle and you actually get a chance to talk to artists/editors. But it looks like everyone is gonna be there on Saturday.

I'm going Friday and Saturday for sure. But i'm ducking out early on Friday because there's a BIG opening at the SoI that day.

I got the professional pass too. I think they're available until mid-February. I'm going all day Friday, but I've never been to a convention with a pass before (only as a peon:} ) so I don't know what it will be like, but I'm eager.

Went last year to the NYC con.. and it was like a sardine can! Thank god that they expanded it this year..

Tickets are already sold out for Sat...and they just added Frank Miller to the roster of people there...

Looks to be good..I already got my weekend pass.

Less of their time would be dedicated to the peon in the first 4 hours. :P

I'm going to be setting up an artists table at the show....It's going to be a good one this year...I thin pretty soon, San Diego will have a threat on best con in the country...San Diego is so huge that it's almost impossible to get anything done or meet anyone importanat this ones a good size...

Everyone should go over to Steve's booth and bug him for a crit. The man gives the best ones i've had in a long time.

And on Friday, everyone should head on up to the Society of Illustrators for the Book/Editorial opening and then come hang out at the bar and check out Steve's work on the Member's wall.
There's some of you best work up there, Steve. I hope you have a buttload more to put up at the ComicCon

Unfortunately, My work will be down at the Society by the time the NYComic Con is going on.

I'd love to see some of the Concept art crew next thursday Feb 15th at the Society of Illustrators NYC . They are going to have a Jazz and sketch and I'll be coming in from Syracuse to celebrate having my work in the gallery. For more info check my site. www.hypersteve.com

Mr. Visions
February 17th, 2007, 05:34 PM
Irene, consider yourself visited. We'll bring the show to you -

ALRIGHT EVERYONE, LESS THAN A WEEK TO GO, WHO'S PUMPED. I honestly thought a tone more people would be going, but I guess it's an 'awkward' weekend. Anyway, chime in people!!

DavePalumbo
February 18th, 2007, 10:48 AM
I'll be there, though I don't plan to bring any originals. I should have a few with me at Lunacon in march though (near White Plains NY)

Rich Pellegrino
February 18th, 2007, 10:49 PM
cool man. I haven't heard of the Lunacon before. I'll have to check it out. I do love road strips so why not have another excuse to go on one.

that was so much fun, i've never been photographed or been part of so many other people's photos in my life, cosplay + fanboys + perverts = a lot of standing still for photos.
also i had no idea jim steranko was so short.

I will have to agree about this past weekend being amazing! There's no better way to describe it besides being surreal. From being escorted around by Batman, meeting Ray Park, talking to a number of Art Directors and Editors, to Meeting Comic Icons such as Mike Mignola, David Mack, and Paulo Rivera... sigh.

Amazing. I only got to see Irene and Digi though, you other guys must have been dressed up or something:D

Anyways, i'll post pics when I can -
