Eliphos 004
:: Species Name: Feracotherium(Ferco)
:: Date Found: 7/12/2381
:: Wrote by Davi
:: Average size: 9feet(2.75m)
Description: Massive small brained beasts that are stronger than earth's largest gorilla. Their bodies resemble gorillas mixed with oxen and sloth. Their front claws have large claws which are used for defense and climbing massive trees. Most are known to be vegetarian, but their teeth suggest they do consume meat, yet only in small amounts because their stomachs aren't adapted to a full carnivoristic diet. They are biped creatures; all though they can walk on their front hands.
Some of few humanoid creatures on eliphos have learned to train the Ferco because they are generally calm creatures and don't require much maintenance. Feraco are used to rip down trees with their colossus strength also for cargo transportation.
When not captive they live in communitys that are spread out over large distances, and the whole community/pack will meet twice a year for breeding purposes.

a couple of things i had in mind, for the bottom one i messed with the scale a little making the creature seem gargantuanly big rather than very large hehehe.
hmm. hey this is my first eliphos creature attempt :)
Critic will be met with extreme gratitude.

The plow looks like crap, but it's late and I'm going to bed. If anyone wants to color, feel free.
Hehe I was going to post crits, but posting both art and crits in the same thread requires a horse higher than the one I'm currently sitting on. :p
Cool stuff though!

A quick sketch while my guide saddled up the Feraco for the Safari. The natives and the Feraco (Feracotherium) have an interesting psymbiotic relationship. The Feraco act as work horse and military tank while the Natives constantly groom and feed them. They did say that the Feracos were quite uncontrollable during mating season and it was quite an uncomfortable predicament when the male mounted the female and both Feracos were saddled. Maybe that's why the guide said to wear a rain coat on such a sunny day.
Pictures coming soon.

Looks like it may be too late, but I drew it and I'm gonna post it. Rarely do I draw creatures, so this was a fun, quick, little sketch.

I must say Davi, I think that this sort of thing is much more fun/interesting than the dsg, at least in the topics. I think that making designs to complete a task...like you could do it with robots, characters, creatures, locations, whatever...just an idea, maybe there are people who have similar sentiments?
