Hi everyone. I wanted some feedback on this new character I've been assigned to do. Here is the official bio of Julius (tentative name).

Cell Wall

Name: Julius

Juluis is Samoan or Hawaiian (at least in part). He is literally one of those people that makes you feel like he is an immovable object. He stands about 6.5 or taller. He is massive, but not obese. He is used to towering over people, but for all his size he moves quickly and gracefully. He has a strong profile and his nose is slightly croked as it has been broken before. Julius is in his late twenties or early thirties. As far as general build he sort of looks like the wrestler "The Rock". His hair is black and he has dark eyes and of course he has the complexion of an Islander. I was thinking that maybe he could have a scar on his face...across the cheek maybe. He likes to cook...and does so quite well. He has a weakness for cats and owns two, Samurai and Ninja. He is very centered and at peace with himself. He has a degree in philosophy and his main interest is eastern thought. Think "The Art of War" and other such books. He writes Haiku. He rides a motorcycle and dresses mostly in jeans and a t-shirt. He practices martial arts and owns a katana. One of his hobbies are bonsai trees. He listens mostly to classical music. He does not use violence unless there is no other resort (perhaps there is a reason for this in his past). Julius speaks quietly and smiles readily. He knows how powerful he is, this makes him confident in his abilities...the one thing that he worries about is that if he does not gage his power it is easy for him to hurt others physically even if he does not intend to. He is not a brute and resents the fact that most people do not see past the muscle and realize that he also has brains (this annoys him). He is in control of his temper...this is in tune with his eastern philosophy. He has definite Buddhist tendencies. Julius has spent much of his life working as a bouncer and a body guard. His dream is to own and run a martial arts dojo.--Scifimoth 11:58, 16 January 2007 (CST)

This is the design I have so far. everyone thought it was the right direction for the character, but now that I have to do orthos, I can't seem to get a side view that looks like it fits the front of the face. Any thoughts or advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance. Oh, and if anyone is curious about this game project, I've provided a link to the wiki.

He seems to have a general flat face with pronounced cheek bones and a large but not long nose.

Study people from his place of origin and try to base yourself on their typical features to make him look more genuine.

He looks a bit too friendly to be such a dangerous and muscle man. Since he studied philosophy, you could make his gaze more distant and thinkful like you never know what his thoughts are.

Also for his bio, when you describe him, you should use specific words that are not comparison to other people or real life things. It's very easy to visualise him when you say he's built like the Rock but just when you know who he is. It is ok to compare his shape to him when you are talking in person to someone else but when writting a official Bio, it s better to stay away from doing so.

Ho, I dunno - seems rather Hawaiian to me. Large population of Pacific Islanders out here actually. Rich culture, cool people. Dudes can be extremely intimidating, makes for a good character I suppose.

Scar could use a bit of work, try and visualize the different planes that it follows. At the moment it feels a bit pasted on and flat perhaps. A good exercise would be to take the largest sharpie you can find and give yourself a comparable mark. *snicker*
