Conceptart Atelier Open Figure Sessions

HEADS UP SF CAers!

the conceptart.org atelier is starting weekend figure drawing sessions at the school.

the schedule is 10-2 AM on SATURDAYS, and features both clothed and nude models alternating weekly. entry is $10 to the public, but there is only room for about 25 people, so come early to save a good spot, its gonna get crowded in here!

What'll the setup be? Will we have benches or easels to use, or should we bring our own. Been burning the candle at both ends lately, but I might just put a wick in the middle for this, since it's only a couple of miles away.

How's parking around there? Don't wanna spend $10 on a class and $250 to get my rear window replaced.... :) I can take a bus if it's sketchy....but the bus at 2am might be just as sketchy.

What about beer? Can I bring some for the 21+ crowd?

As far as getting there, I'll probably just abuse the AAu bus system, i think one of their buildings isnt far from there :P

Damn it! I was so stoked to do some drawing tonight. I love the idea of a late night session. I guess my evening is clear to do some sculpting or the COW now.

You might get more people if you do it at night, rather than the morning, too.

The space is lit by natural light, so night is not much of an option. The lighting in the space is great, tho, it would make it worth your while to get there in the mornin :)

Nobody actually ruled out beer, I think I should say.

It was nice to see a few people in here today and have a chat. Like at the White House.. next week it's 11am till 2pm to let a few more people get up on time. Pop down and take a look at our happy home.

the first Saturday Session was a success!

we managed to break even, with 12 attendees showing up this morning, so that means we're doing it again next week!
we did realize that getting up at 9 am on saturday sucks though, so we're bumping them down to 11AM - 2 PM SATURDAYS until further notice.

the lovely Breanna graced us with her presence and even stood on her head for 5 minutes so we could draw her upside down. we'll do it all again next week, with another great model, so you don't want to miss it!
