Frost

I don't think I ever started a thread here before, but, hey, here goes...
About 5 or 6 hours work in 2 sittings (all today). Hmm, it's about a drunken monkey who mistakingly picks up a banana instead of his cell phone, and says "I can't hear you! I have a banana in my ear!!" -- or something like that. Eh. =)

beutiful colours and skin rendering!
the faces are a bit plasic like, but have a very good 3D feel.
you could add a bowl of peanuts on the table, but maybee that a bit to much.

I really like this piece, especially the different values of the crowd in the back and how they all seem like they actually occupy the space that they should (dunno if that makes sense) well whatevs, great piece.

It is so GOOD!
The characters and the backround, everything is perfect.
very small and light crit: the guy on the right side, I had to squeeze my eyes to understand whats happening in his chin area(I mean I couldnt understand is it a shadow or beard). Maybe some definition there? Or maybe it is just my monitor.

Nice work frost ;p I like the foggy atmosphere going on. Really convincing. Is that Ricky Martin and Dave Grohl?

the monkey looks a bit human--he has a human nose

Dang it DeathJester, i was gonna say that.
i saw the silhouette in the door as well.
sweet work frost.
the laughing guy's arms are vastly different lenghts, but hey, i don't really care :)
only real thing i think that might add to it would be if you put a glowing green light on the corner of the cell phone.
lighting's awesome as usual.

That's awesome. I'd love to hang out with that monkey. He looks like a crack-up.

In my book, monkey=funny. This piece is great, nice work Frost. I second the comment that called for a bowl of peanuts on the table! :D

good work Frost,
about the composition IMHO, there is something missing in the center..
maybe the 2 characters could be closer...?

Whoah, lots of replies here -- I didn't think it would get so much attention. Thank you all! I had replied to this from work but have not been able to process the post due to the firewall or some other problem... so I forgot that I had not _really_ responded to this thread in the past week -- my humble apologies.
Deth Jester: Thanks! And no, it's not (intentionally) the Steampunk guy in the back. =)
R_M: Thank you, and yes, it does have a nasty plastic look... I will try to work on that next time. Thanks for the compliments!
Davi: Thanks D. =]
Wood: Thank you! Glad you like it!
Ant4D: Yes, it is a little dark in the chin area... he has a sort of goatee-beard thing happening, beyond the darker values. Happy you liked it!
I.Was.Ink: Thanks! =)
Malachi: Hey! No, not me sitting there... just some, badly designed and drawn fool. =) hehe
Haohmaru: =)
Jrr: That's happened to you? Having a drink with a monkey? =)
JMascho: Hehe thanks. No, not Ricky Martin and Dave Grohl either. Just random scribbled idiots. =) Danke!
JNorish: Thank you! =)
Ocher Face: Thanks! =)
Tyboogie: Indeed the monkey's nose is weird... I don't know monkeys really... and I'm always too lazy to look up reference for anything... (I'm such a lazy (pronounced "lousy") artist) =) -- Thanks!
HardcorePixxX: Thanks man, glad you like it!
JerO: You're right about the arm... I was hoping no one would pick that up. Haha.. Eh... you know how it goes... sign it, send it to the press, and move on.. =) - Thanks man. =)
Brads3D: Hehe - thanks =)
Smeagol71: Hmm -- two comments on the missing peanuts... thing is, I ate them... sorry. =) Maybe the next pic will contain a Monkey AND peanuts! =) Thanks!
Kaktuswasser: (whoah, that's a weird nickname.=) Wow, a 3d rendering? hmm, I must be doing SOMETHING right... or, you've been drinking too much. =) Thanks!
Guyjin: ...from behind??? Hehe -- I won't even ask. =) Thanks buddy. =)
BluePencilArtist: Thanks... if you want, I can send along a slightly higher res if you want to print it... little good it's going to do me keeping this picture around collecting dust. =)
Kakikukeko: (damn, it's a competition between you and Kaktuswasser for weirdest nicknames! =) -- Thank you! Yes, indeed, your image does work well too.. but perhaps now doesn't breathe as much... more cramped and "stressful". (Nice touchup skills!=). Thanks for the input! I think something in between the two might be good. Thanks man! Composition, anatomy and design aren't my strong points... I need to work at all that.
