I love imagineFX but its too spendy for me right now for americans its around $99 sigh the murphy's law of college students strikes again you see stuff you want when your poor and when you have the money you forget about it compleatly

Rob- thanks man, preciate all the free goods. I cant wait for the new mag, last month was A+!

Harold- I believe the law you are trying to quote is " when you need it you cant afford it, and when you can afford it you dont need it"

You know its about 15 bucks per issue, I can't afford to dish out $100 buckaroos for it all at once, but I can surely spend $15 a month to get it, and all the information in there is invaluable. get is while you still need it, cause when you dont need it anymore-its gonna be cause you went into accounting. eew..

hey Rob I think I just sold a copy of your mag bro, I'll take 10% on that. Or let me do the next cover...yeah right..

Some issues are pretty nice, but I wouldn't call them invaluable, all these tips and trix can be obtained by looking at forums such as CA, CG or Sijun. The workshops are good from time to time aswell, it depends on what kind of artist you are and what you're looking for. It's also nice to see progress shots of pictures (as in workshops and Q&A section) but I'm not sure it's worth 15$ a month.

None of the stuff in it gives me the "Bam! is that how he does it o_O ?!"-realisation and after having read 6 or 7 issues you realise that you should always start from the beginning, learning anatomy, learning values, learning proportion and perspective.
I would still buy next issue if they manage to get a workshop/interview with the overrated (blashpemy!) Craig Mullins.

But back to the topic, yes free workshops are always useful. No harm using them when they're free.

I dont know about you, but I cant afford a laptop with wireless internet connection to access on demand what Im looking for while out and about. Having a physical copy of the artwork, and some of the tutorials not to mention the interviews with incredible insight onto a business which I have but barely scraped the surface of, is a tremendous tool when used correctly. Take the images printed on high quality from the best in the business, you can directly study from them, get ideas, try it yourself...specially when you only have one monitor at home... anyways, to each his own. To me, someone who has never attended art school, its worth it. invaluable just like CA...CA rules baby!!
