i have no idea why there are not replies for this post. i think the drawing is pretty cool as is. if you color it in painter, i would not try to follow the drawing too closely. it's loose. keep it loose. nice fragmented, gestural quality to the lines.

I think it'd look better if you drawn it normally with both sides being the same :) It's a good drawing though, you have to emphasize your shadows and higlights more, it looks flat as of now

my say:
i think you would be better off using a mirror next to your monitor and digitally painting yourself that way.
there are of course different reasons to do a self portrait. if you are looking to practice drawing the human face realistically, i would paint from a mirror. if you are looking more to express yourself, or study anything outside of realism, then using a sketch should work fine.
