I wondered, what were the best draughtsmen in art history; did a search and couldn't find a thread of this sort.

Post the names (or even work examples) of the artists, whose drawings you admire.

Mine:
Michelangelo Buonarroti
Leonardo da Vinci
Albrecht Dürer
Mikhail Vrubel
Egon Schiele
Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres
Auguste Rodin
Milt Kahl
Ilya Repin

Tübke (a small detail shot) (http://www.tympel.de/16thCentury/StrebKatzTuebke.jpg)

he's lesser known
but as far as I'd go, one of the best German draughsmen ever. He died in the 1990s' or so

here's a sketch (http://www.incisione.com/fotograndi/tu_studio.jpg)

Edit:
he's actually not nearly as good as the guys in your list, but I kinda felt like promoting him some :)

I am very fond of Bouguereau and (lesser known) Herbert Draper.

if you like bougereau.. try Fragonard and Watteau especially if you can actually look at their work in person. their paint handling and coloring skils are amazing
their topics light and fluffy
