hey everyone, i have been gone for a while doing lotsa different things...but i was able to get this painting done. i tried doing something that is not my usual style...without any dramatic lighting, and i actually wanted it kinda blasted out. maybe i made the face too white compared to the rest of her body....

The original picture was flat to begin with. I leveled the crap out of it because no one needs to see what I really look like.
He didn't have much to work with and had to fake the nose since I erased it from the picture.

Whoah, these posts are confusing me...
This is a nice painting. My only crit is that the left eye (our right) seems off. And maybe the hair flows a little too far out on the right side, kind of throwing the balance of the piece off a bit. those lips though...fantastic.

Nice work, as always. But I think the right corner of the lips (right from the viewers point of view) is a little bit too low.

yeah, it is a little bit flat but imho, that is what makes it.
maybe, the colors on the rim of the flat white could have a lil bit more saturation. remember the way prom deals with that overexposure thing?
sweetoutrage: that = you? holy shit... from what is left after the levelling, you look pretty damn beautiful.

For me, the problem is less that the face is blown out (which it is, but I think it still works). It's that the undertones don't really mesh with the tones of the rest of her body. Her face has a strong cool violet cast across the cheeks and nose, while her chest has a warmer, more orange cast. It makes the figure read more as if she's wearing heavy make-up than showing a particular lighting condition.
I also kinda wanted to see a little more definition in her shirt on the left side of the painting. Just something to set it apart from her body a little more.
Otherwise, I like the composition a lot and I think the face is fine (I don't really see where people are talking about her mouth or eyes being off). She's quite a looker, really. :)
Nice work.
(Edited to add that I guess I can see how the little smudge under the lower right edge of her lip might bother some, but it wasn't a big deal to me.)
