Need Help on my painting of venom character

I am just starting out painting in PS. i put my sketch, and were i am now with my pic. any help would really really help me. i think im ugh...i just have no idea were to really begin . any help critiques?

Hi there.

One thing to focus on when painting is the lightsource and its properties. When looking at your pic it seems like the most part of the light comes from infront of the character and on the arm and leg towards us this looks ok, however, the strong light on his other arm makes it look as if it is coming toward the wiever while it should be darker in value and thus making it seem like its moving away from the wiever.

The sketch looks real good, makes me wish I also had a lightable (maybe I´ll just build me one :D ).
