Some things I was working on for some practice. :nintendo:
And come on who doesn't like naked fairy ladies?
and...something for the ladies...a fully clothed and armored not so good looking dude.

*sigh* .... correct your anatomy before you paint. study the skeletal and muscular structures of the body and define their forms.. through shape and shadow.
then harden some details like: how the wings connect to her skin, her facial expression, the light interaction with her skin, and the background. - JAG

Though the *sigh* was impolite and unnessisary, JAG's advice is good. Your paintings will look better if the anatomy and proportion of the under-drawing are given a little more care. To be more specific, the fairy's head looks a bit too big for her body, and her hands look a bit too small.
And, JAG, you may have given this advice a thousand times and grown tired of giving it, but it is there is no need to make those who are just starting out feel stupid because they haven't heard it yet.
We were all there once.
I still am.

Also, I thought I would point out that you should give the edge quality a little more care. The edges are so wobbley that it makes everything look... I don't know the word I am looking for, but Sickly or Torn Out is sort of the feeling I get from it.

A bit of an update.
Thanks Jag, Nathan, and Xaxona. I do agree, anatomy and proportions is something I really want to keep improving on.
Ironically Jag, that little sigh actually gave your reply a bit of an attitude, but that was probably exactly what I needed to jump kick me into really wanting to try and improve the piece.
And I'll take more care about the edge as I slowly work on this.
Any specific things anatomy-wise or lightning...well I'm pretty sure lighting is far from right, or anything for that matter that looks wrong or not quite right?
And I'm not to sure how I want to attach the wings onto the body...any advice?

Well, the thing that makes the fairy creepy is she looks like a man with a woman's body. I think what you need to do is soften the nose bridge and make everything sleek and smooth. She looks like an anorexic (as seen from her hands). And when you smile like that, only the upper teeth are visible. And the corner of her lip is to be hidden behind a cheek (try looking in the mirror while doing so with a small mirror towards a larger one).

Thanks Shortydiva. Good call with the teeth.
I usually draw more male characters, and have as of late been trying to draw more females, which is probably why she looks like a dude. Well, I tried the aforementioned suggestions and hopefully now she looks like she has less testoterone in her...yes?...no?....maybe so?

Well, she definitely looks a lot smoother and more feminine. And I kinda forgot to point out that when your mouth opens like that too, it's not black when you're looking completely to the sides, so the area where her mouth opens should be the color of whatever object is behind it (her hair).
And on next images you do, in terms of human ears, the top of the ear is aligned with the top of the eye, and the bottom aligns with the bottom of the nose. Also, her legs are too long in comparison with her body. Other than that, she looks even better than before.
