The Idea
I'm going to create an "Art of..." book about a film that doesnt exist. I'll be doing a rough story and delving into as many areas of CA as I can. Ideally to help me develop in areas I really lack in.
I'll be concepting Environments, Characters, Creatures, Storyboards, Tech-Design, Orthographics, Scenes, GraphicDesign.
Nation
The title of the Story is "Nation", set at the end of the 21st century. Where in the early years of the 21st century, oil was becoming more and more scarce, people had to start taking back some power and re-order the way they lived. Until the day came where great oil fields were found in Australasia and Africa. This soon put a halt on the steady progress people were attaining. They let themselves slip back into the ignorant bubble of bliss. Personal comfort replaced social consideration, and fell low in priority.
With wars and external forces threatening their ways of life, the people gave away their freedoms for assurances of "safety". This was welcomed by governments around the world. The rich could stay rich, and own the souls' of the nations' they protected. The whole process was so subtle no one realised how little they really had anymore. Earth was about to die, and no-one knew. The future became a mis-guided & faceless execution for all who existed there.
Kyal
The Protagonist. Kyal is a black-ops agent for the government. His main objectives are rebel leaders and chains of command. His weapon is the sword, of which he is highly skilled. He has been trained since he was a child. Brainwashed and conditioned. Feels nothing for anyone, and is truly alone.

Guan
Guan is another black-ops agent for the government. Guan knows nothing of Kyal as is the way of their unit. Each agent believes they're the only and most prized member of the party. Guan is a Masochist, and revels in pain. Possibly the greatest fighter alive, Guan has never been beaten. Guan's sex is ambiguous.

Ndrian
The effect of global warming & dimming. Increased pollution and deaths of thousands of species. Nature took her own course on the humans. Mutations were inevitable. These unfortunate beings were cast out of society as soon as they were born. Ndrian is the leader of the mutants who live wherever they can. He is wise and more human than the indulgent and ignorant people of Nation.

General Public of Nation
Living in the laziest and indulgent of existenses, the people of Nation worry not about the world they live in or its effects, they only trust their government to provide for them what they can't be assed providing for themselves. Their screens feed them the existence they believe they are part of.

The Military
Obviously with the wealthiest nation in history, the government have the most technologically advanced Military that has ever walked the Earth. Most black-ops agents begin here.

YoungPriest
As many governments and civilisations of the past have known, religion is one of the easiest and most ideal ways to control a population. The young priests pronounce God's word peacefully, violently, convincingly, any way they wish. They are very wealthy & glorify those who pay them without question. Any questions posed to the priests is seen as blasphemy; which itself holds a heavy price.

Priests
The older figures exist more for an image rather than what they preach. The young priests are the ones who do the talking. The old preists are kept alive artificially for as long as possible proving the divinity in the priesthood. This re-inforces the belief from the young priests and makes an attractive prospect for the population.

This is a scene concept. Kyal's final battle with Guan. It is the moment where Ndrian's gift kicks in.

Ok, heres a first painting of Kyal. Gonna try get loads of these things done. I really toned down the graphics and other designs in his costume. I think this makes him far more realistic.

Heres Guan. Again, editing and developing the look. I wanted to tie him in more with the military. So instead of a draped garment as what Kyal has. Guan now has combat pants with straps to place his knives.
