The focus of this piece was the pilot in the cockpit of the craft, i wanted to leave the sketchy feel of it, and then experimented on a different scale for the second image,
WARNING CRITIC WILL BE MET WITH EXTREME GRATITUDE !

Its hard to see what's going on there - I can figure out parts of a head in both, but the first is simply too big for my resolution (1280x960).
You need to define levels and space, It looks too flat.

Tis good, but it takes some looking at to understand. Needs more definition. You left it a bit too sketchy.:) Just work it up a little.
Were you going for sketchy to give the impression of speed?
Edit: I like the headgear too.

wow, that is a nation of sucking ass. If you hadn't said what it was no one would mistake it for that. Never a good sign.

I don't think people are posting their work for you to talk shit on it. Instead you might want to include what you think might improve the piece instead of being a asshole.
On to the piece:
I would suggest one of two things to improve the peace. Attempt to create motion through various effects, or try to tighten up the lines and detail so the veiwer will view the peace longer. At this point, the focal point of the picture is the pilot, and even he doesn't have the detail to keep the viewer interested for long.
I think the color scheme and textures are fine though.

People *should* be posting their work to get an objective 3rd-party analysis of their work. Saying 'good job' in regards to a piece that's is amateurish and completely 'phoned in' does not help the artist posting said work. Instead it reinforces an ill-advised outlook that can keep them from really doing the work they need to do to actually be a decent artist.
In layman's terms, sometimes artists need a bitch-slap to realize what they are doing.
Anyone who knows me from various art forums (here, Eatpoo, ArtBQ, etc) knows that a.) when I give a crit, I break down blow by blow what is working and not working in a piece and what I see as steps to change that. and b.) I can take it as well as i dish it out. My work isn't going to get better from people saying nice job buddy.
However...
in order to crit something for improvement, there has to be SOMETHING there as a base to work off of. And in this piece there ISN'T. Without telling the viewer what it is, you have no idea what it's supposed to be. In concept art the work HAS to speak for itself without explanation, that's the purpose of it, to define the imagery for the project. If alti wants to be a concept artist, it's better he hear things in a realistic fashion here, instead of wondering why when he sends work out for a job application he hears NOTHING back and puzzles over 'well, everyone on the forum said it was cool... I don't get it.'
This isn't talking out of my ass, I've been doing art professionally for 18 years, been an art director or lead artist for 12 working in everything from rock videos to film, to TV to print media to videogames. The reation ANY art director at ANY of those areas would have to this is the exact same.
Better to go back and learn the basic principles of drawing than trying to make something 'flashy and stylistic' without rudimentary basics behind it.
you wanna think that makes me an asshole, go right ahead.

thank you to everyone for the feedback, you've helped alot :)
oh and i agree with rantz, noone should hold back and just say "good job" or anything like that, if someone deserves to get told, dam well tell them what you think of their work so they can do a better job next time. that's why i post here .
