Painting technique...

Still trying to get better at painting. What do you people think of this technique? Ive been doing the dark tones first and then highlights on that but this time i decided to go the other way around. What do you guys think`? Any comments about improving on the skin tones etc?

I think its a bit flat because all the face has the same gamma. Try study old masters paintings. Read Jason's threads:)
