Hello.
I´ve made some changes on the Gypsy Elf image. I mixed both versions, here´s the result:

I see the background of the archers illustration doesn´t fix right with the characters, so here you can see one of the girls alone:

And the original image:

Thanks to all for the comments.

sorry but i don't really love the new pic... maybe the women looks older or the background is to unachieved... i don't know...

I prefer the second of the gypsy pics - i dont like the grey skintone in the first.
The latter picture, both characters seem to be offbalance, especially the right hand one. Then seem to be toppling toward the right. I dont think that is helped much by the angle of the mountain in the backround...
Also, the bow if the right hand character is at a strange angle (to me)

If you are not sure about which one you prefer, take the mixed one: Set one to a layer on the other and play with the transparency...
You'll get the attractive elements of both in one image...

Second one is somehow burned... I like shadows and contrast in second one but I prefer the not so bright colors in the former.
It's true that Archers pose is a bit laconic and not natural, but I like the backgroung very much, specially the stones.

Personally I like the first one better.
But I also like some of the elements of the second one better than the first one.
I think you should keep the skin tones from the first one and the brightness of the clothes from the second one.

I like the more subdued colors of the first one.
What I don't like is the positioning of her rearmost arm. The rest of the pose is so interesting and dynamic, and that arm is just hanging there looking like its not even attached to the body.
The second piece isn't doing it for me. There are too many drawing and compositional problems for the nicely handled color and rendering to overcome. If you flop it you'll probably see some of what I mean.

Hola Casandra.

I've seen you have changed images in this post, maybe you should post a reply to inform that to keep your post up if changes are made, surely you should want everyone to see this, or not? ;)
Anyway, this gipsy looks reaaaaally better. One thumb up.

I think your new version of the Gypsy Elf looks fine. It's hard to see the changes though without the first two you originally posted. I like the outfit on the archer girl, the colors you used are very good.
Nicely done

Cassandra,
I like the tones and colors of your pieces, but the figures would win a lot more, if you'd introduce more body language through the clothes they wear. The poses are cool, but the bodies of your characters stop speaking when a costume overlaps their motions. That is making your figures stiff, and that shouldn't be.
Best!

Hello, Marko!
Thanks for writing! I know what you mean, my figures lose dynamism when I turn sketches into finished color works. That dynamism is one of the things I like of your drawings.
On the other hand, I always try to draw outstanding costumes, but usually I left them unfinished, not showing what I had in mind.
I´m trying to improve that lacks. Soon I´ll post more works.

I like the drawing but not the improvement, heavy light burns the colors and destroys details in the figure. And the worst of the effect is that it looks like a gypsy being surounded by the police!!

el primero ya lo habia visto en tu web, esta muy chulo. sobre el otro, esta genial al fondo, con los arboles aunque la luz quiza quedase mejor si fuese mas oscura al estar dentro de un bosque, saludos ciao ciao

spain is in the house..
madrid ey? is anyone in barcelona?
i like the pose on this elf girl, nice deviation from the standard. but i agree that the heavy burn makes you lose all the details. youd have to manually repaint her in lighter tones, but id think the painting would really benefit from the extra work.
