These are two great pieces, but I like the one in the first page, on the left.

Those are some really great looking decorative flowers.

Welcome to the board!

I personally dislike the first picture but thatīs just a matter of taste and not of the really good execution you have shown here. The second pic is much more my piece of cake. I especially like the choice of colors - maybe a few more highlights, the mid seems a little flat to me. On thing that isnīt clear to me is, what sheīs doing with the bow. Her right hand doesnīt really seem to grip it and the left hand doesnīt support it.

Otherwise really fine work.

now *THAT* is what I call anim/manga art. I too am very picky about it -probably due to inexperience tho. But this is awesome. The second pic reminds me a BIT of what you could find on the Thorgal book covers (Comic by Rosinski (http://www.lombard.be/Images/CouverturesAlbums/Fr/25.jpg) )
The helmet is pretty awesome yep indeed !

That's it... I'm quitting art.

You are rock hard. Those destroy me. The first girl has long upper arms but it's no big deal.

OK I'm going to go stare at them some more...

Amazing stuff. The only thing I would say is that the one on the bottom piece, I wish the girl's face was lighter, had more highlights. But that is all. Otherwise these are beautiful and have an amazing blend of modern and historical style. Bravo.

The only thing i would change would be to get rid of those silly anime eyes. The rest of both images is really amazing. You're an amazing artist. (So quit it with the damn eyes!) :)

The first piece has a very Art Nouveau feel to me--must be all the flowers, the patterns on the clothes, and even details on the weapons themselves...very organic. I appreciate how you captured so much detail without resorting to heavy use of linework. That's something I could learn from looking at this image.

Not much to say about the second piece except that I'd like to see it finished to the same level as the first.

Inspiring stuff.

This is just what I want to see on a Wednesday. Thanks.

Those backgrounds could almost stand on their own...I mean hey, those birds! Where did the inspiration for that come from? Looks almost art nouveu-inspired.

The hair on your valkeire is tremendous. Great flow and linework. I like the subdued (lighting) quality of her face...except that she doesn't look Norse...more like an American farm girl. (maybe more beautiful because of it).

There you go.

Say, do you have an online portfolio of any sort? I'd love to see more.

Fantastic Stuff! :chug:

Beautiful to the EXTREME, but I think it's a bit hard to make out what is going on with the characters - where their arms are, what their poses are, etc. But my first impression remains: truly wonderful work!

Wow - beautiful.
Really like the stylized poses they have. Reminds me of old Chinese/Japanese ink paintings.

Happeh
July 3rd, 2003, 11:29 AM
Now I know I am not an artist. ;) What I see in the first one is the arms are holding the weapon incorrectly. She could not do anything with it in that position. She is tied up internally.

I am a student of the human body. I have a small idea of how it works and how it should look. I am no artist so do not interpret my remarks as having any bearing on your art skill.

I guess my remarks are more from an anatomy point of view. Any of you guys take anatomy? Kind of gruesome but you can learn things about people by examining dead bodies. Bones and muscles and stuff can mechanically only move in certain ways. I would punch that woman in the face before she could bring her weapon to bear. ;)

I am laughing at myself writing this. Wondering what artists think of a non artist commenting like he has some idea. ;)

I had a hard time looking at those pictures rationally enough to see Happeh's point - beautiful work, just fantastic. Colours are amazing, love the Valkyrie.

But Happeh is right. I ain't no anatomist:confused: but I do study sword fighting. That girl is looking for a broken nose. But hey - when the art is that strong, at least she looks good doing it. Will probably still look great lying on the ground bleeding.

Amazing work my friend. Absolutely.

I must say that the valkarye is wonderrful! I'd expect to see summat like that hanging up in a museum; it's got a great classical-like style to it. Keep it up!
