Alien character WIP

I've recently started drawing again (I drew quite a bit as a child). Anyways, here's my character. Crits appreciated.

P.S. What settings do you guys normally use for scanning pencil drawings? My Epson 1260 comes with a preset called "Illustration", but it's only 8-bit greyscale. I made a custom setting of 24-bit color with "color-smoothing" turned off, and the results were decent (I guess).

P.S.S. Any tips on how to color this guy in Jasc PSP 8 would be HUGELY appreciated:).

the colours you chose are very strong, but come out even stronger due to the white BG.
If you plan to make a 3D model of him a side view is a must do.

I like the hands., and he has a E.T. feel to him (must be the big eyes)
