I'm going to start work on this tomorrow.

I'm more of a traditional media type of guy instead of digital but some of the digital work I have seen on CA is amazing. So I might try the digital route, I had planned to do this in pen and ink.

What do you think ?

I would block colour the background and lineart the main with ink washes.

I had a go at digital but it's completely alien to me.

hi, well is good i supose that what you mean was black and white inking.
but color and ink is also a posibility, you keep the skull and beret(i dont know the word for gorro) in grey or color?
digital no means better, if is not good for you then dont do it, but if you want paint digital and don't do it because is strange you missing somithing that you want, who knows, is another thecnic.(sorry for the sermon)
what do you think about inking all black and white?
is only a suggestion, look in a browser "alberto breccia" or "mort cinder" that's i what im refering with b and w.
anyway i like the direction is taken the drawing...

Yeah that's maybe a good idea to ink in black and white and maybe keep the hat red. The red and green clashes but thats typical of christmas.
