Stunning. I like the rough, eye dazzling strokes. Very bold composition and focal points. The extrem details and the rough strokes balances each other out well, and the result is neither too busy nor too loose. The dark red stokes in the background certainly adds to the atmosphere, but above all, I love the Japanese samurai feeling. Great work, and thanks for the in progress pics.

fantastic! such a wonderful bit of painting, you are one of my favorites. each new painting of yours stops me in my tracks with wonder.

if i was to criticize something it would be...well nothing, this is complete and anything else i add would be just my taste and not yours.

Hmh, is there a special breeding in Korea for good artists? Or is this some kind of Martial art you all try to perfect? :D Anyway, great stuff, really like the lighting.

WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!

WOW!

I wish I could offer some sort of critique, but I don't think I can because it is just too good.

I guess the only thing would be that I wouyld love to see the whole character, but that isn't so much a critique as it is a desire to see MORE!

facezero : thank you ! Is this for any project in peticuliar ? We'd love to have more background info on it :) Other question : did you do a preliminary sketch before, had a fairly good idea where you were going or just hit the digital canvas right away ?

ege, giving a try tomore substantial replies.

Again, impressive chiaroscuro! Thank you for sharing the process. Some comments to go with all the praise, though:

* It's nearly the same pose as the Lion-paladin you posted some time ago. The background colour is the same, the lighting almost the same, the cropping too.
* The red eye is, I think, not as subtle as the rest of the painting
* All the people in your gallery turn their heads to the left. :D
* More background work

You obviously have a wonderful artistic touch, and the light modelling is very delicate on the subject. I like the classical (as in Caravaggio, Rembrandt) feeling you do digitally. Post more often, please! :)

That's nice! I really like the version right before you added the red eyes. Seems more understated that way, in my opinion. Great work!
