Hey everyone, thanks for checking out my S-Book! First off, I just want to apologize if you thought this was the REAL Jim Lee's sketchbook. I'm just a big fan of his, but I'm not him. Sorry.

I've been looking at this place for over a year and finally decided to post some stuff in my own sketchbook. I really enjoy drawing, but I'm a little insecure about my work. But I guess alot of people feel that way, even if they are really good. I was mainly curious what kind of reaction my work would get (if any), so feel free to tell me your brutally honest opinion. Also any kind of critique would be appreciated of course.

As you can probably guess by my name I am a big fan comic-art, particularly Jim Lee's. I also like manga and anime type art, and animated cartoon artwork. I try to draw in as different of styles as I can, but it all comes out looking like me anyway. Oh well.

Here's the first batch of stuff, I'm going to try to post everyday if I can - but I probably won't anyway :( . Tell me what you think if you don't mind. Thank you very much for looking!

Don-key Hey thanks alot for the comments man! I'm glad you like the monkey pic, I'm actually not too fond of that one myself but I spent alot of time on it so I thought I'd post it anyway. Actually I felt dumb that it had stretched out my post like that...and then I saw I had left out a word in my introduction. Doesn't make me look too good I'm afraid. Glad you like the Robin.
jrr Tricked you? Meaning that you liked my work? Hmmm...or more likely you were mad I wasn't Jim Lee lol. Thanks anyway, I appreciate it.

Anyway here is a little more stuff. The Saviors pic is a few years old, but I found it on my hard drive so I'll post it. Also a better scan of one of my pics from the first post, which I am actually about to color... So you can look forward to that {/sarcasm}. Heh, well enjoy, I appreciate the comments alot, guys!

Envisor Thanks for commenting on my art. I'm glad you like the monkey picture. I'll stop by your sketchbook soon and post a reply, hopefully I won't act too stupid. :blah:

Posting this stuff is a tad embarrassing, but I enjoyed making it so that is something. I know the more I draw the better I will become, so I'll keep plugging away. The most important thing seems to be keeping a positive attitude and keeping the process fun. I really do care about improving my art, but the most important thing is being happy. At times I’ve grown quite sad that I can’t draw as well as someone like Jim Lee, but I tell myself that eventually I will make it. Really it seems people who don’t truly savor the time they spend drawing don’t make as much progress. I keep that in mind each time I work on art. It can be tempting to think of art as a competition, but ideally everyone should have something unique to contribute even if they are not as technically proficient as others. I’ve found that if I spend all of my time worrying about where I want to be I have a harder time concentrating on where I am at the moment. Everyone tells me art is a life long process. I just hope I can keep focused so that I can make as much progress as is possible.

Well, sorry for the inane ramblings – I’ll try to post tomorrow. Thanks for the support!
