Hi again,
Cheers for the feedback folks. All the work is done in photoshop, I always tend to use many images to build my shots, I think the boat one is made of over 300 images from 4 shoots, plus the splashes on the waves and the mist of water is made from images of star systems and the Aura Boriarlis, I don't use many filters, mostly just layers and painting bits in and transforming, all quite lowfi really. With these shots I've really been trying to almost paint with photographs, I'll drop a few more on with this reply.

Hi Again
Thanks a lot for the feedback people.
got this shot finished late last night and thought it would be a good one to share with this forum. Still got some tweeking to do on it but it's pretty close to the end thing. It looks better big, but you kind of get the idea from this...

Thanks

Andrew

Couple things. First How do you cut so neatly around your images? Are you just going in real small and cutting around where necessary before layering?

Second, On this latest one I am having a hard time perciving where the light is coming from. The top right has the same exact amount of light as the bottom left. I would think that the light would have to be in two places at once to get this affect. In the end it looks like its on top of space instead of floating inside of it. Just my opinion.

I agree about the last one, it looks sorta like it's just... There in the picture, but not really there (because of the light).

Man... The others are so incredible :D

Cheers for the feedback, I'm gonna have another play with the space picture, I always saw it as being lit by the sun so the light would be pretty constant, but maybe I need to forget that a bit and get more styalised with the lighting. I'll see how it goes and post again if it works out.

Xoonz...As far as cutting the images out goes, I just get in very close and take ages over it, stick some good music in and try not the get to board. I did work with a Graphics tablet for a while because I thought that might make it easyer but I found just getting in there really close and cutting out in a really laborious way gets the best results... Also a good tip for getting a nice selection is to use a layer mask with your selection slightly feathered, then control click on the layer mask, and go to set selection to layer mask, then fether more or expand or contract your selection, then inverse the selection then go round the edges with a black brush on your layer mask, keeping an eye out for bits which need to lose or gain a bit from the selection. Not sure if I have explaned that to well, but it's quite a good way of playing with your original cutout and getting more out of it....

Cheers

Andrew

Wow impressive!
Can you link to a nice tutorial web page that teaches you how to do similar edits?
Or perhaps a book! : D
