Hi to all.
Im really happy to start to be part of this amazing community, full of so many incredible artists.
I hope to grow as a person and as an artist in order to be a real professional.

The studies you appear to be doing are all the fundamentals to become an awesome professional so I'd say just carry on with it.

hello bushido

glad to see beautilfull things in your thread.

i really like last one. the combination of different texture with the human skin is interesting. Her face looks somewhat flat .

Oh can't tell us about how did you created the yellow things mixed with her hair and expanding over the canvas.

bye

xXMizu_NinjaXx: Thanks for the Welcome! :)

zou: Yea, the character looks flat. I totally agree. I need to work more on the volume on my pieces.
The yellow thing i created was with different types of brushes and different values to insinuate a certain type of light.

lovely studies you have here! I was especially struck by the hand study in your first post. Not only is it great from an anatomical perspective, I can't get over the way you rendered the skin. That's one thing I've always struggled with: rendering skin so that appears truly organic. You've captured the warmth and life of human skin beautifully!

It would also be really interesting to see that invented monster of yours developed more fully. Anyway, keep it coming! :)

Oh, and the "plop!" is hillarious btw!

And thanks a lot for the stars :star:

The painting of the statue is my first oil painting, and the second painting I´ve ever done in my life. I had some issues with the linen oil, thats why some parts glow. :^^;: (I did it several months ago)
The hand is a study using ref
And the figure drawing is a practice using no reference.
And the last ones are model drawings.

Hi Bushido! Didn't know you were here too!
Nice to see your sketchbook. Are you studying in an arts centre or something? I just saw the cast study and I'm figuring that your life drawing nudes are from real life and not from a book. Very good stuff here, I gotta agree tho with someone before saying that your arms can be a bit large sometimes. I loved your little non referenced people almost at the end, incredible how you can see quickly the muscles. I'll keep an eye on you! :tihi:

Oooh, pretty. Great eye for shape and using the tiniest bit of shading to bring it out. That older man leaning forward is a great example.

I like the goblins, too. Just a few simple planes in the face and head, and you've used shading to give them some real solidity and personality.

This is great sketchbook man, the pencil work is great and is good seeing that your imaginative work is up to par to your studies. The color paintings were cool too. The only suggestion I have is with your environments. From the little I see in them, they are weaker compare to your other work and will be convienent some more practice and use of perspective. But to be honest, sometimes painting landscapes can be a bit boring :P Keep it up!

The last update is killer. That's a nice pencil rendering. I will more attention to the proportions of the face because it seems that the right half part of the face is more wider than the left. You can see it more around the chin area.

The last illustration is a great improvement. One of your best yet. Like the composition and color paletter. I think that the last one is worthing pushing more forward and take into the critique section for a better advanced critique. Anyways, just a suggestion, keep it up with the updates!

What an amazing sketchbook you have!
I really like your pencil work! as well as your photoshop work I guess hehe the picture on the first page(the statue) looks so real that I thought at first that it was a photography! :P
I can't say anything specific because I think you should know something well enough first to be able to critique and I am still a newbie to drawing,
but from what I saw, I'm looking foward for your next drawings (:

Wow, great sketchbook dude ^^ I really love your portraits and the lifedrawing sketches from the last page.

With the last img you posted, Ms. Whitehair, the face/hair and bg are looking awesome. I do wish that she was doing something more interesting or purposeful with her arms. Right now the way she is just holding up her sword with her right arm seems a bit strange to me. This is just my 2 cents of course, but I think I would prefer it if she were holding the sword down against her dress and I would also pull the composition down to focus on her and the lowered sword. Keep at it; I'm really curious to see it all finished up :D

Great values man, your rendering is gonna get to an uber level.

Just a little issue I've seen in some of your gestures and in some other pieces is that you may have a minor lack on anatomy/contour , being this something I'm pretty sure you'll fix quickly.

I'll be cheking this nice sb, cheers!

Wow, impressive stuff lately.

Try to work on how you put the nose on the heads, both the nose and face look nice in single, but the perspective in the noses are different than that of the face pretty often. I know you will be able to fix this easily, so go and do it! :assspank:

Jeneni: Tnxs for your kind words
algenpfleger: Your stuff too! :D
zulu: Im glad to be your friend too! :teeth:
Archaeus: Well, I used references for these portrait practices. I draw and paint with and without references to keep in practise, I think that the big dilema is not whether or not to use refrences but yes how to use them.
Hmmm resources > Conceptart.org, www.Artrenewal.org, books and all that i can find. And about my education i have drawn since i was a child like probably most of us. I first learned some basic stuff at a comic studio at the age of 18 which I attened for about 2 years. Then I continued on my own
and like five months ago i started to go to a classical atelier with Lula Mari (My friend and teacher).(Btw, now im 23)
Here are some of her paintings (all oil on canvas).

Hey Bushido, as always your pencilwork is very sweet and your oils are improving. Not sure, how you are practicing with these but I found doing a still life with fruits really did help at practicing with oils. With the doodles, pay a bit more attention to perspective would help some.

Hey
Good stuff man, and good progress also
The latest oils are cool, the paint is handled well and the colours are nice. But as Walid mentioned there are some drawing and perspective problems. It becomes very obvious in the ellipses of the second and third painting. Maybe plan the painting better at a preliminary underdrawing/painting level and check your perspective. I would like to see you doing a portrait/figure with oils soon, also.
Keep up the good work
