My first minautor ever...
I should have used references, for the head, because it seems a bit weird to me...
Well I hope you'll like it anyway :)

Paul Bonner lives in Denmark and currently works for Rackham, a French game company...that's all the info I could find...But I'll bet his contact info is in the back of the new Spectrum book...
Awesome minotaur...I think the head looks fine...I really like the multiple horns growing into one horn on each side...nice touch...very original take...

Hi bOne,
if you get a grip on old Warhammer 40k Stuff - especially the Orc books (heīs been doing the best orcs and grtchins in WH history) - there are many drawings of Paul Bonnner. As far as I can remember heīs been doin a lot of stuff for Games Workshop in the first half of the 90īs (Unfortunately I sold all my White Dwarfs so I canīt give you specific information). After this I think he was quite involved in one of this dreaded trading-card-games (Mutant Chronicles ?).
I like hin very much, too, he was one of the reasons I started collecting 40k-Orcs (but never got far).
I like your pic. Good expression with your usual attitude to detail. Your interpretations of classical Fantasy-stuff reminds me to work my portfolio in this direction ...

Nice minotaur, not bad at all.
Paul Bonner is one of my influences and a superb artist. Fipse is totally correct on the Warhammer and Warhammer 40K orcs and orks. I bought a ton of old White Dwarfs from a friend a few years back and I must say, Paul Bonner's work really stands out. I scanned a ton of his work from the WD's to preserve. In addition to Rackham, Bonner currently also paints for Riotminds (www.riotminds.com). A Swedish company that produces an rpg called (translated) Dragons and Demons. His covers are absolutely amazing. I am currently trying to score copies of this rpg just to get close ups of his covers.

Hi bOne, the minotaur is pretty cool, looks quite Tauren-esque.
I too am a big Paul Bonner fan, he did some very characterful work for Games Workshop.
I tracked down a gallery of his stuff here:

Enjoy!

Paul Bonner also did a ton of Squat drawings for GW as well as the Orks and Gretchin. Can't forget the Squats. I love those stunty little bastards.
Nice Minotaur Bone. Lets see some legs.

slowflo, the gallery doesn't show anything...someone forgot the hyperlinks;)
anyway, the minotaur is cool, tho i'm not sure about his grip on the axe,it seems a bit to me like he's holding it more like a pistol instead.maybe that's just me.as everyone else i'd like to see some legs(very strong and muscular ones) on the pic.other than that it's great.:)

That is strange, Carnifex. I clicked the galerias and they work for me. I can see various Paul Bonner pieces. I thought you meant the link up above that doesn't work. I don't know what to tell you, Carnifex.

Maybe try a Google image search on "Paul Bonner" (with quotations) and see if that helps. Also, do these work for you? They are links to the individual pictures.

hey bone, I like this minotaur a lot, it has a lot of attitude, and that axe is killer... the only crit I have.....and maybe this is nitpicking, is that the wrist seems a little bit small...in proportion with the rest of the arm.

Hey bOne, you are very welcome, I didn't mean to hijack your thread with my Paul Bonner raves! I really admire your work and your style looks like that for the Rackham/Confrontation concept work. The Rackscan site:
http://rackscan.net/rackscan/index.php?session_lang=en&session_layout=light&PHPSESSID=1acf2bb5d668105832730d1e13985091 has some more Bonner work, including a minotaur of his guarding a door that is absolutely amazing (it is in the Raganarok section, with a few insane demons and evil dwarfs, etc).
Your minotaur is awesome, and I read all of your posts as I find your offerings to be a cut above.

It's strange, I have this compulsion to always go and look through minotaur threads, simply because I work on a dairy farm and know what a cow looks like.
This minotaur does not look like any sort of cow. Not a Watusi, not a Zebu, not even a Brown Swiss.
The horns and ears are excellent, and the overall quality of the artwork is typical of your phenomenal style, but from the eyes to the tip of the snout he looks more like a wolf than a cow.
The snout is too narrow, tapers too fast, and doesn't end flat enough. His mouth is just odd, and it doesn't look bovine.
A cow head looks like a foreshortened and somewhat squared off glass soda bottle. I'd reccomend references of Watusi and Corriente breeds of cow for minotaur drawing. Or maybe Scottish Highland Longhorn.

I don't really like piercing, I just found that really cool on that drawing. Hehe Vaarok, thanks for that info, I didn't know there was more than one type of cow. :D

How about a saddle on his neck for a lesser creature (orc?) to ride on him.
