Hi there everyone,

Decided to start a new year with a new sketch book after giving up on the old one.

I am always overawed by the talent on these boards so became intimidated to keep posting new things but if I am going to improve I thought I had best come back. Hopefully I will keep the motivation to keep posting my sketches and such.

Feel free to comment.

Pixel Dust.

(Thought I would include here my portrait from Nov 1st so people can see who I am)

Previously shown on finished section but wanted to be able to find it to show some people - sorry for the duplicate.

That unicorn sure has something special, and the picture underneath it piqued my interest as well... that old lady is very characteristic. And I must say I love your landscapes! I always shy away from making landscapes, I never manage to make them as atmospheric as I want. Probably means I should practise more. :P

Keep it up! :)

Hi, ummm, about your last painting, can't say much about it, because haven't got too much experience, but those arms seem pretty broken, and she has something wrong with her eyes :)

I hope you will show us some more, especially works like your last landscape :)

Cheers Dragonsnail.

I agree Kubushas, I had real problems with her eyes even after flipping the image a number of times they never managed to sit right. They don't line up. I think you are right about the arm that the dragon is sat on - it looks a little too thin even though I tried sketching a person from life with a hawking glove on to get it. Might have another stab at them.

Been doing some more landscape stuff but not in pastels this time - is still only part way but here it is :

Hey, I really like your costumes and your sense of composition.

great start to the sketchbooking ~

i suggest playing around with different compositions for your figures - for the most part they are very static or linear or whatever it's called :3

be sure to use reference though o.o

Thankyou Theodor.

As Naomiful suggests - a play around with some different compositions. All are from references in an attempt to improve my anatomy.

Good variety of mediums and some fairly solid sketches. Most of your images have a slight problem with the eyes, they don't appear to wrap around the skull and line up properly - watch out for this. This is very obvious in the Unicorn pic where it actually makes her look (IMO) slightly retarded (sorry).
