Topic: Gods at War-
Any god from any civilization goes, it can be ancient or modern. Any style and any medium goes, as long as he/she is portrayed in the midst of war(battle). The battle must bring across the sense of awe of watching a god at war. What do you think a god fights like, looks like, kills like-?

* Variations of the topic will only include; god vs god, god vs army, god vs titan -anything else is disqualified.

Rules:
Any medium (other than photography) is allowed, one entry per person, posting in the CC is allowed but why would you ruin the surprise. TRASH TALKING IS MANDATORY.

After all the contenders have enlisted you can then choose your opponent from the list, OR if you had some beef with someone bring em over to the TD and face off. Those few humble people that wish to participate but do not want to pick someone, will be open for random pairing up done by yours truly. This is a chance to get your skills tuned up, so don't pick a newb just to win.

by way of explanation, the "gods" in Lord of Light are highly enhanced humans who lord it over the rest of the planet as if they were the actual Hindu pantheon. so technically they're not supernatural, but are considered gods by the general populace.

Bah, my victory? My victory was because Mike Dutton was on his 5th long island iced tea, and eyeballin' his 6th. He didn't mention he was throwing darts (blindfolded) at printouts of our work to pick the winner, did he? He probably also didn't mention he was in his skivies and wearing an octopus for a hat and singing Beethoven's 9th at the time either, huh? Yeah, that's how he rolls...:P

I had 5 judges in mind, but 3 of the 5 joined the TD before I could ask...which is not a bad thing, just gotta find some new ones willing to go for it...wonder if Elwell would be interested ?? (his pm box is always full, so I wont even bother trying that) if any body sees him tell him theres a Big-Red-Cock looking for him...

One more thing to everyone, If you challenge someone and they dont respond, you will still be paired up with that person. I know everyone here wants to challenge a top contender, and I've kept in mind that the top contenders ALSO want to challenge a greater skilled artist...so winners will proceed to a second round where your piece will face off against the other winners by way of public poll in the FF(if judges are unavailable), the masses will speak. Winners of the first round are winners non-the-less, but I will take a guess that winners of the second round will be in a league of their own.

I think that we should stick to a pre-established mythos that anyone can look up if they wanted. If you go with something completely your idea, the audience would probably have a hard time accepting it because it isn't something readily available for them to refer to. (You couldn't google it to gain any background info) I hope that makes sense. If not then I blame the paint chips I ate when I was a small lad.

I think it is established that you can use a god from a real civilization or a god from a well known fiction (a god that will pop up on Google for example), but you cannot use a god that you invented yourself. About changing the representation of the god away from traditional, I'd say that is a matter of judgment. You want to have some originality I am sure, but if you change the god around too much there is risk the judges will like the other person's god better.
