Hey guys (and grrrls!)! I'm new around here and I really like what I see. I've always enjoyed drawing and had some artistic talent but I want to get even better. Lately I've been trying to capture famous peoples' likenesses via portraiture. Any critiques or feedback are welcome! See if you can guess who the celebrities are!

Welcome to CA, you've come to one of the best places to learn imo and you'll get some good crits here. Before people tear your work apart and send you back home packing after the fiercest e-weggie you've ever had... I'd like to say I love your nickname :)

Is that Matt Bellamy up there? Nice drawings, work hard on anatomy. You're already very good. It's nice that you're proud of your work, I never seem to be satisfied with what I do. Looking forward to seeing more from you.

hey, thank you!
You have an anime-ish style to your work, and ive noticed that that can either hurt a person when it comes to getting realism, or make it work for them, and i think you can make it work :teeth: keep on drawing with your eyes, and study human anatomy

Anatomy is very important at your stage of developement. I suggest you get some good books, like those of andrew loomis and start studying them they help a lot.
Oh, and by the way. I know it's exiting and you want feedback on your art, but the best way to get it is to just go around and comment on the art that you think is cool.
If you find a whose sketchbook you really like, keep posting in there and eventually, they might come take a look at yours.
Try to be patient, I know it's hard. Us mid level artists don't get tons of attention right off the bat. You've got to build up your skills and reputation. So my most important advice to you is. POST ART EVERY CHANCE YOU GET. That will bring people in here much faster than big sketcbbook links yelling to come check out your sketchbook.

thanks for the praise. I like anime so it doesn't bother me. I like all kinds of art so it is okay with me. :bashful:
