Okay this is a great sketch and it has a lot of things going for it. I think it's main weaknesses is that you have too much detail at the top, where as, us being humans thus always wanting to see the human factor we look to the people in the bottom area there,-the robots face-and the people to the right, (the people at the bottom seems kinda unfinished compared to the rest of the peice.) I really like the great perspective going on with the poeple conveyed to the right. A fix may be to make this machine seem more human like, or more animal/creature/plant like and thus we would be able to at even a glance, understand the form of this setup.
Second problem, you are loosing both form and depth in the arm and egg shape in the center, it looks kinda just gestured and you kinda would need to work it out a bit more(not add detail, just show that definitly this is a modified egg shape,or this is a cylandder that bows toward the bottom.
Lastly if the purpose would be for film, you may want to think about the tallness and maybe change that factor to comply with a design that would better fit the film ratio. It may not matter too much if it was only in a short scene, but if you are gonna have some complex shots with pans and such you may want to spread it out(this IS an environment,) or just have a drawing of it where we can visualive it doing its purpose in the short heightwise, long widthwise aspect.
I think your sketching style is cool, and the idea is good, keep drawing man!
