The www.conceptart.org/school has only a few spots left before the studio will be full for up to two years.

One of the remaining spots has been reserved for a student with a previous focus in industrial design or person of talent with an interest in the visual logic of technology and an aptitude for creating vehicles, machines, inventions, or other such things.

Please feel free to ask any questions that you need answered. Most the typical questions can be answered on the website.

Best,

Jason, do you know when the review process will be finished or if there's an application deadline? Pardon the new guy if this is common knowledge. Thanks!

To everybody that missed the big discussion about the ConceptArt.org Atelier during November and December (including me :] ) these threads may help.

Jason Manley - ConceptArt.Org Atelier website launched
http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=82257

Carl Dobsky - CA Atelier: The Chosen Ones
http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=83267

This thread was started after the last few notes from Carl in the Chosen Ones thread above, so they may still have openings. The facility is located near by Massive Black central, I remember reading two blocks away or walking distance.

Killer Napkins, I'm pretty sure they already have students there working away and there are 17 openings for what roughly will be a two year program. The start date is whenever you get there and start drawing, you're done on your 2nd birthday unless you're slow or quick. Without going through and verifying which threads came from Massive Black admins or forum users a good deal of that info may be hearsay, so check through and verify sources, etc.

Hopefully this might save you all from too much digging. A FAQ would have been handy, but beggars not be choosers. Good luck!

I was wondering if international students were accepted? I haven't seen any mention of it on the forums or the Atelier site.

Since this is a 2-year program does that mean that you won't accept any more people until January 2009 or will there be a chance to get in January 2008? thanks

maybe this is a little OT, but i still don't think i'm ready for thea telier so i'll ask for info instead.
I think the atelier site really needs more info. The tuition part of the site is just a simple sentence..but what about the rest?
this is not a rant or a crit or anything, its just that, beign myself a non american student, i'd like a site where i could get information about tuition, scholarship and maybe help for international students all in one place.Or at least more info on acomodations close to the atelier, prices and more.
All i say is that imho the site should give a bit more info, cause i'm really interested but i'd like to get all the info in one page instead of having to scroll thru 5 pages ;)

hope you don't take this as a rant ;)

ciao

northdrow: From what I have read in the threads and the official atelier site (http://conceptart.org/school) it doesn't matter where you are from, you only have to meet the criteria and they must have a spot open. This assumes that you are willing to relocate to San Francisco if you get chosen.
Destinatus: Again from the other threads (posted by peter_john above your two posts:upset:): It is a two year program only by description, if you are soooo great that you can learn all the stuff in eighteen moths then that's it, if you need longer then you stay enrolled for some more. And if you read the first post in this thread (where you have asked the question) then you could see that they have a few spots open (people who are already enrolled have started by now) and one of these spots is reserved forms someone ID related.

My tip: If you really want to apply then read the threads and the atelier site in the same way as you would look left and right before you cross the street, instead of later wondering why the car hit you. There is enough information for you to work with (and the thread(s) have already answered a lot of question that are repeated here). Don't be lazy and do your own homework.
