hay guyz.

no i'm sorry i'm kidding. i'm really really afraid to post something here because i look around and i cower from all the talents laying around here. but if i want to improve i've got to post something so here it be.

it's a work in progress, and please, do critique the hell out of it, i've got to learn to take it :x i guess mostly the colors need works, i don't know how to punch it to make it more dynamic/interesting/bright.

go ahead DX

Stylistically this looks good and i don't really have a problem with the colors at this stage. Depending on the gender, i'm a bit in doubt here, the hand seems a bit big and the fingers a tad stiff. Count the joints on your own fingers.

Eyes seem a bit crosseyed to me. Arm seems in a bit of a difficult position to paint. Watch the perspective of the brush.

yeah, i'm having trouble with the arm+rest of the body-ish, and going to try to get more references for the hand (oh, and of the male gender).

thanks very much for the comment! :'D

He's choking up on the brush. He shouldn't hold it up on the ferrule, it will cramp his strokes ;).

i apologize for my lack of brush anatomy, ferrule? you mean he's holding it up way too close to the end near the bristles :0?

The ferrule is the metal band that holds the bristles to the handle. Although it occurs to me that, with the anime approach, this may be an asian style bamboo brush. In which case he's holding it completely wrong.
