hi champs. here's something i drew recently. i finally dug out my scanner since moving to the east coast, and thought i'd try getting back into drawing pointless flying things...

The little side view thumbnail doesn't exactly correlate with the perspective view, but that's okay.

The cockpit rearward design is interesting. I like the bulk and the sturdy look of the concept. I think you could push some of the details a little further to add that much more to the concept--namely the rear landing wheel and the 'hinges' on the wing flaps. It just looks like you could spend a bit more time thinking out those details.

I'd like to see more color in the concept, either that or insignias or markings just to flesh out the concept.

Very solid drawing overall. I feel inspired to so some fighter craft now.

Hi Spinefinger. Always cool to see new work from you. This plane reminds me of a micromachine :). I like the double-canopy design. Btw, the designs you did for Mutineers' Moon are top-notch.

very nize design and concept..u should take away the thing supporting the tail..it looks like a pice of tape or something and then it looks more like a toy then a real thing..or maybe i just need to get some sleep..
anyways..:chug:

Oh cool Spinfinger ! I was wondering where you had disapeared to.

I like your work especially those little holes in the air breaks (I have no idea what's the correct term for this in english). Coffee shop doodle ? Careful with the perspective tho.. :)

thanks for the feedback guys. i haven't been drawing much fun stuff recently, just busy with work. thanks sedone, the stuff you guys are doing on muntineers moon is amazing! i was a fool to turn down that chance to work with you guys. chuckw - i was gonna move back to LA, but then i couldn't find a job, etc, and then i got this offer near NYC, so i took that instead. being poor sucks! i'm doing concept on a PS2 title for ubi-soft. eventually i'll work my way back out there. but i'll be there on holiday there next month, wooo.

hey Spinefinger,

love the plane, it's kind of got the same feel that Disney cartoon, with the bears who flew planes, (I think that was it) had... not that your image is cartoony, but that's my first impression... a more miltaristic, futuristic version of the Disney design...

ok I'll shut up :)

where on the east coast.. I live in Jersey, and it sucks here, but if you'd like I could tell you places to go that make it tolerable... are you in a game company?

hey bob

i live in downtown JC, jersey city. about 3 blocks from the grove street path to manhattan. and i work out at here www.hypnotix.com about 20 minutes west. so far i don't mind jersey, there's a decent indierock scene here, i'm made a lot of friends and i go into the city all the time. only thing i hate about NYC is legally can't smoke in bars. how lame is that!

Looks cool as always...i thought you would post another "coffeeshop-doodle"...:p

But somehow the wing on the tail bothers me (sorry, my english is bad and so is my technical know-how about planes)...the one which is in the back seems to be longer than the one next to the viewer...there is a perspective issue i think, but i can't tell exactly what it is...maybe it's just me or my eyes or my disfunctional brain...

I like the colors you chose, they always look fresh and well chosen...:)
