This was a afterthough and is not very well broken down to the steps. It is just different times i saved. I threw it in as i love seen peoples roughs and how they work.

I love her fierce gaze. Two little things, though, that you MIGHT want to improve...or not! Depending upon how traditionally 'pretty' you want her to be. I think she's a tad cross-eyed; those far eyes are hard to get right, in 3/4 view. And the chin. I suspect there's not quite enough face on the far side of her mouth, or perhaps the chin juts too much. I'd have to see your reference. But photos distort, so...might not help! Neat pic, though!

Thanks for the crits. Good call on the chin i don't know if it sticks out that much in the ref or not. But i should have bought it in anyway. It can be hard to look objectively when working from ref as what you see, you take as correct. I actually thought there is no point from working from photos and was not going to bother with this pic. But i picked up a lot from doing this and am doing another one at the moment.

Can you show us the original photo? Cause at the moment, her face looks too long and the chin is pointing out too much. And the way the neck connects to the head is very odd, it should be more smooth, instead of having her head stuck onto the neck.
The coloring and lighting are very nice. I'd like to see the original so I know if her facial features are that small.

Here is the original i think the biggest problem is her mouth it is too small.
the blurring around her head is my fault i used a blur fillter on her an erased back out but i missed a whole side of her face and by the time i saw it i had dropped the layer and saved over.

I think there is a little combination of problems at the moment that are leading to her looking as though she snarling, as opposed to the reference that is much more relaxed. Take a look at this:

- Her lips need to be plumped up a bit and softened to get rid of some of the hardness that makes her look as though she's pursing her lips.
- Her chin needs to be made a bit smaller, and we need to see more of her left cheek, and that will get rid of the draw look in her face.
- Her eyebrow is at too much of an angle, so it looks like she's drawing it down into a frown.

Maybe you wanted to give a different expression, but Im talking just in terms of accuracy from the reference.

Hope that helps. Keep it going!

Yup i see it all now thanks the chin is probably the worst thing there than the lips etc what was mentioned. i tend to rush things at the end and throw it up on the net. I get over excited by finishing a pic. I think new rule for me leave the pic for one day without looking at it than go back and fix what needs be then post.

I am not going to fix this as i like to be able to look back at my pics and see where i went wrong.
