I've been a bit busy with freelance work (and being lazy, mostly lazy actually) so I haven't posted anything in a while. I made this just to post something. Took about 1:50 or so, judging from the file date information. As usual, I used Photoshop 5.5.
I've had the idea in my head for a while. It's a chitinoid with blobby extremites, that's about the concept.. I wanted it to be grey but I'm not sure how well I did. Perhaps too much blacks breaking it up. Perhaps too much brights bouncing around. I think it was softer in my head. Anyways:

I like it prom, but like you said, I think that there's still too much of the black visible.
I really like it though, and there's also something really special about the other chitnoid, even though its still a sketch.

Hmmm... this one still looks quite sketchy imo and I'm sort of confused about the face, and the pelvis. I'm sure you're still working on it, so I'll leave it at that.
The update on the Chitnoid looks freakin cool!

Good, ol' fashioned Prom critters!
Hadn't seen yah in a while, figured Samus kidnapped you and fed yah to the metroids. Glad you were only busy making money. :)

The chitinoid design is very cool and sleek, the updated version even more so. The shalrath looks interesting designwise, colors work too but the pose leaves it little flat. Maybe you could add a couple of more breasts too...:p
I like the shambler thumb. Are you planning to make a full color painting out of it?

I like colors and texture you put to your drawings

Danko! Multipass!
The Shalrath is not my design. It is one of my fav Quake 1 enemies, besides the Fiend and Shambler of course. I really hated the Slime/Tarbaby btw...
I just moved the horns and hinted some boobage, cuz I imagine it to be female.
Here's an update. I worked mostly on the legs and on unflattening it.

Below, a Quake 1 shot for those of you not familiar with it (shame on you!).

I'm not sure if I'm gonna do the other sketch. It sorta works best like that. I suspect the pose will look odd and undynamic if I paint it up.

hmm...may sound paradox, but i think the quicky is the best so far.the perspective is more interesting than at the other pics and there's somehow more feeling to it.do you consider it finished or more of a sketch.if being the latter, make it with a bit more details(if there are any to bring on) and thus a full artwork.Keep up the good work,i dig it:)
