[ Hm... ]
[ Now that I think of it, this could be similar to that floating "seeker" device in DUNE... ]
[ ...but, there are many ways this device could locomote, and even a levitating syringe need not be stylistically parallel to that example. ]
[ Although, I suppose it could be stylistically parallel if that's how you wanna approach it. ]
[ ;) ]

The Hypodermic Beedle, 30-40 mins. I haven't seen DUNE so I have no idea if it's "stylistically parallel", probably not.

Very nice guys.
I think its funny, none of you have included it's 'target'.
LAG I like the subtle skull on yours. Thats very neat.

Here it is. I spaced out the fact that it was supposed to be independant, hence the guy operating it. It's on notebook paper because it was done at school haha. Hope you like. (hm, yeah this is my first post here)

When I read the topic, the first thing I thought of was a friend of mine who works at the hospital flinging a rocket powered needle with laser sightings (the lasers are the things on the sides of the needle and some of the reflections from the eyeball, I kinda screwed up).
BTW, when running from this thing, never look over your shoulder, that always ends in tragedy. :)
Oh yeah, and I'm new here too. Hello.

awsome stuff above particularly paolo13, would be nice to see you explore yours further.

a little off topic=X the target would be some virus while the needle traces/destroys it saving the patient. 30 min pshop

45 mins, Photoshop CS2.
This is my first submission to the daily sketch group, and i'm determined to keep it up until my skills improve. God knows i need it!
It's supposed to be some sort of automated injection thingamie that sits at the bottom of a strand of hair until needed...

Denis Ivlev - that is cool, may i ask how did you get that texture (or technique) on your drawing. i am new to texture brushes and would like to know how to use them. Any tutorials would be much appreciated.

Thanks. Most of the texture work you're seeing there was done with a pencil (6B if you need to know). I smudged some parts of it and there is also a layer of some rust on the "razors".

Wasker - Very cool bot and composition. Treatment on the eye is just lovely. Little dude's kinda... well... less good. Some great movement and very pleasing lighting decisions in this. Nice job.

Thank you William, I spent more time on the bot than the man and as a result, some lights and angles are abit off :er:
