Don't try to solve it with more colors. Get the values right ...
The sky looks as if you rushed painting it.

I like the concept.

It's left leg looks shorter than it's right one I think.

Yeah it's better already.
I think the sky would look better if it was either completely clouded or not clouded at all ...
with stars even in the upper half.
I think the dragon would stand out more.

Ask yourself ... how is he lit? Is the flame the only lightsource?
Is there another lightsource? From behind and above the viewer?

Then seperate lit areas and shadow areas more.
Convert the image in grayscale ... look if it still reads well.
Just some random thoughts ...

I think it looks great so far.
The dragon could use some eyes. Maybe some more definition along the neck would make it seem more 3d. Also the ribcage area could use some more careful rendering/blending. looks too airbrushed. Post updates.
