The rider of the second horse is generally held to represent War. The red color of his horse represents blood spilled on the battlefield. He carries a great sword, which represents battle and fighting. The Red Horse is also said to represent the Planet Mars. It is red because it is rich in iron oxide, more so than the Earth. According to astrological beliefs, Mars has quite an ill effect on the Earth when its position is behind us to the Sun, especially when the Moon, The Pale Horse, is between Mars and the Earth. The red planet also represents the God of War in many pre-Christian religions.

This was, in my opinion, the best round yet - with 30 finished entries this is by far the largest turnout we've had in one challenge, and definately some of the best pieces we've seen yet. Good job to everyone who entered, and be sure to post comments here. Challenge #23 will be up soon, and judging by some comments in this round's thread, I think a pencil-only challenge is in order.

Heck! Though call this round. How I wished I didnt take part this time. Anyway, my favourites are Evil Sloth, Prophet, Octothreat.
Evil Sloth has a really nice design and finished look. And Prophet has a fresh design and his rendering has improved a lot. Octothreat's rendering was good but I dont understand the concept though.
Close call, but in the end I think Evil Sloth gets my vote :)

My vote went to Q-Caddlewick, but it was close to WolfBane one. I though the last will win at the end, but Q-Caddlewick deserve votes too.
I really like the dynamic in your piece Q-Ca...' (:p), to my mind it's one of the only horsemen wich looks like a real "Lord".

But good job to everyone, I enjoy seeing such a bunch of entries (does it mean something ? don't care, I'm sure you understood... :p)

Evil sloth gets my vote, energetic, beautiful colours and design. Probably your best to date imo! Not too fond of the boring composition though, but it doesnt affect the purpose of the challenge.

Close second is Prophet, cool design, but the pallette/value scheme are too dark and insecure to be readable and coherent.

Tons of great entrys, can't beleive some of you guys are still in your teens. I voted for Wolfbane, always like his stuff and this was no exeption. I like the way Prophets turned out, and how the rider was part of the horse. Evil_Sloths was something special, the more he refines this technique hes gunna come up some real interesting stuff, no question.

this is the biggest teen t-dome ever so far, veny nice entries, for a very cool topic.My vote goes to Q-Caddlewick. Althought technically it isn't perfect or finished, its the one that IMHO fits the topic better, nice classic composition, nice palette.BIgger and more precise version wold have been better tho :)
Other great entries imho where the ones of Evil_Sloth(excellent entry, great sense of light and color, but the whole "mood" imho doesn't fit the topic), Wolfbane (technically very good, but the horse anatomy could have used more work and it could be a chaos knight or anything from the illo), Yungsk.ae(not exactly finished imho, nice design and presentation but the "4 horseman" lement is missing imho) and Prophet (very professional entry imno, nice palette, nice design but a bit "too" original from my point of view to fit the topic)...
