im trying to put together a digital portfolio for collage and just wanted to know should photograph the small drawings or scan them in. whats a good scanner resolution. also i would like to make mine special in some way what program should i use to make a website layout for it? i know adobe makes something but i forgot the name of it.

I dunno, but as long as you doesnt have a very good camera, dont take photos. Use the scanner, anything between 300 dpi and 500 dpi is fine. For a "portfolio scan".
Photoshop works fine to do the design, also, adobe has GoLive, wich is meant for the codeing part.

The resolution should be pixel-based so you will probably have to go for something like 800-1200 px width to make sure that it displays on all common monitors.
Website: GoLive CS2 seems to be cool, I've heard Dreamweaver is good as well.

If you have a terrible scanner, it won't do you much better.
I say depending on the size of the work, and the volume that you should just bring it into an office depot to have scanned or something. I had to do that once and it turned out pretty nice. But if your camera and scanner both are'nt up to par, don't settle for one. Find something that will actually look professional.
