Keyed by the excellent reference post by I.was.Ink (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2577), my friends and I decided that we had discovered our new past time. Urban exploration looked too cool for words...
So my two friends, Tish and Greg, and I geared up and started investigating places to go in Houston. On Friday (6-20-03) we cruised downtown where I had spotted a badass abandoned Police station when I was walking back to work from lunch. We scouted the building, but much to our dismay we found that in the back of the lot where we found our entrance there sat in a clean sparkling white vehicle smack dab in the middle. The man inside was easily able to survey the entire lot. Sadly... we had to set the entrance in our minds to come back another night.
Then on Sunday, Tish found directions to a certain abandoned Jefferson Davis Hospital. To add to our interest... the place was apparently haunted because it ACTUALLY, no urban legend here, was built upon a burial ground of an estimated (by the University of Houston) three to eight thousand bodies.

So we drove over and I quickly found a way in through the back of the fence (despite being "warned" of video survelience :rolleyes: and multiple No Trespassing signs).
It is hard to describe the beauty... It was that hour of the day where golden sunlight streamed through windows to light up the dusty remains of the hospital; Ancient boiler rooms, gutted, wire spewing coke machines, light fixtures softly swaying, and the surge of wiry vines growning over everything that had access to light.

We sadly did not see any ghosts. But we still had one of the most fun times... ever. It really was amazingly fun.
