I see odds and ends glued on to a canvas in a manner that is compositionally boring. It is lacking in narrative, aside from a puerile attempt at artistically trying to make people think of sex.

If you want to make art about sex, there are thousands of more effective and interesting ways to do it, both representationally and non-. This one doesn’t succeed because it looks like the bottom of a dumpster. Try again.

i actually had a lot of things done after that, but for most I did not need to hear critique for, cause its more academic and i pretty much know what everyone s gonna say about that.
this one i never posted anywhere, only showed it live..and got interesting responses.
i think the photograph does not show all the interesting details in it..and some might see it as trash, thats of course acceptable as well:)

i actually did not make it about seks, but from reponses i got from people who saw it at my show, i figured it might as well be.
againm, photograph might not do its justice..

A guy glues a bunch of stuff to a board - everyone on the forum tells him it's crap.
Another guy places a condom on the floor and takes some photos of it - he wins the Turner prize.

It's a strange world. ^^;

You could have named this thread "Fart or Rex" and it still would have the same impact...like none...

i see random paint thrown on the canvas and a few little nicknacks glued on there. but the slit in the middle with the pearl thing does resemble a vaginal opening.

What they said, totally.

But, purely conceptually and with a lot of smoke in my lungs, I see either a nasty vaginal disease or a rape victim. But nothing I'd ever pay money for.

So yay. [extremely gruesome end of] Sex.

And "art" in the sense of a triumphant caveman sticking his tongue out in defiance at a sabretooth cat he's just killed in a fight to the death, is "art."
But not really "fine" at all...

So there. I've managed to say nothing new, but make it sound different. Go me. Bye.

I see a failed attempt of someone desperately trying to be called an artist, but unfortunately lacks any skill or talent and is forced to place rubbish, paint and glue in the most uninteresting composition I have ever seen.ever.

sorry but thats what I see.

what else you got?

I see opportunity..
I see originality...
I see works of literairy art...
I might even be able to see raw unbridled sex if I stare at it long enough, you never know...

But all of them in the responses to this thread, not in the original post.

i hope i got this right, please correct me if i am worng.

there isnt a real composition in that work there. Too much variety.

Now from what i remember, my Atelier teacher told me that there is unity, harmony and variety

Variety is all i see. 100 percent variety and no unity causes everything to go off.

Variety and harmony together makes unity. (V+H=U)

Think of it as a sound wave, amp and frequency, it goes up and down is a squiggly line forever. All variety would make it look like our stocks in the market. all harmony would make it look boring. The too mixed together makes the sound waves we all see. It goes up and down on the graph.

Keep this in mind. :)

Oh and the masters: if i said it the wrong way forgive me, i just learned this a week ago, and will learn and go more indepth thx

the jux. between the white marble and the chaos outside draws the eye immediately to the center. That leads me to the unusual element that is a slit in the middle of the piece. Thus prompting me to think of sex. Composition is unusual but it's there. ;0 and i'm a guy so just about aaaaaaaaaanything makes me think of sex *rolls eyes*

Is this a trick question? last time i answered these kind of questions i ended up hitchiking naked from Mexico to LA with a guy name Pedro....all i know is please keep this art away from me after i had couple of beers, it might get messy and yes the children will be crying.

PS: What's the ping pong ball in the middle represents?

PS: What's the ping pong ball in the middle represents?

the slit representing a vagina. the ping pong ball representing semen. green leaves representing growth/pleasure. the garbage representing lust/dirtiness...etc

it actually should not resemble vagina in anatomical sense, its symbolic
everything on this piece is symbolic.

This piece of art has overtone to sex, but hey! art is full of sex and porn stuff ;) Look at the painting of Picasso: "Les demoiselles d'Avignon" hahaha :P

I think it's an art dude ;)

either you are confused or you just proved that any explination can be applied to anything. This is what makes me hate all critics about anything other then technical knowledge. I had to deal with so much made up crap in all my english classes in HS and my liberal art classes in college. And everyone buys into everyone elses bull shit to create this huge mound of it. Shakespeare goes from a cool story about revenge to a massively complex story about freudian psycology and the Eudipus complex. Its rediculous and idiotic.

sorry about the rant.

Fine, you've admitted that this is the artistic equivalent of trolling.
Enough is enough.
