Topic: Biological/Chemical Defense for Law Enforcement

Background: Near future. Biological and chemical attacks are becoming more prevalent. Law enforcement units are currently ill equipped if an attack goes off. While gas masks give a certain amount of defense against gases or air-born pathogens, they are inadequate against the new range of weapons being used. They need to upgrade, and quickly.

Brief:

1. Design a product or system that protects individual law enforcement people from biological or chemical attacks.

2. Full coverage is the priority.

3. It should be able to take the sort of wear expected in law enforcement.

P.O.D. - Personal Offensive Defense
P.O.D is a completely sealed defense from all outside nuclear chemical and biological threats. it features to twin hyper skiff engines to propel it incredibly fast and one heavy duty tread for tearing through any terrain. inside are a cushy chair and a java machine to help you forget the hellish world around you :D.

This armor has been created for stealth operations of KM ''SWAT's orange wing, with chest and back plating created of such components that proved high resilience as well as serving as tanks for oxygen. With its share of armor i also used a previous IDW winning entry the shield you see here and modified it a bit making quicker to use against medium level attacks. Along with all this this suit has bin provided with jump packs(shown operating in side view) which gives the user the ability to jump distances.

Legato

I gave him complete body coverage with a standard O2 scrubber, but if things get really hairy he has a re-breather to provide a dedicated oxygen line.

Sgt. Kopf hurdled over the concrete barrier, desperately trying to escape the toxic cloud behind him. The fumes thickened the air and scorched his lungs. In mid flight above the short wall, he flicked on his guardian angel: his N-MAS. "Noxious-Material Atomizer Suit.." he thought. "This should be interesting." A blue cloud burst from his breastplate, blanketing Kopf in a cool mist of counter-chemicals and nano robots. The fire leaving his lungs, he coughed, "chalk one up for modern technology."

I think the admins should post a reminder in the most visited forums that people should check out the competition section and vote!

poop on a stick - The design looks a little brief, I would like to see it develop to allow the individual to act out their duties.

nkabuto - A good initial concept, I would have liked to seen it finished.

AyaXiac - A rather 'scary' looking design, I wonder whether it is intended to be constructed of some bio-engineered substance.

misledtomisery - I thought a strong concept with the protective elements of the suit strongly evident. I would like to see what blurb and background you had for it.

killermachine - I think that the elements of the design covered by the background could have been better brought out in the image.

Legato - A nice clean design and the hazard protect elements strongly evident - I think the design could have been made more distinct from current technology, although if I remember correctly you were aiming for something not too futuristic in approach.

mackerman - Although it would perhaps not be the most effective form of protection the different approach is to the brief is refreshing.

Graphuji - Although the image could have been clearer there are some good features. I like how the design is more 'everyday' law-enforcement wear and the clear helmet to maintain the human element.

Marco Mazzoni - I like the cleanness of the image and the modular design of the suit.
