I'm probably the biggest fan of Cary Nord, the guy that currently works on Conan. I've NEVER EVER seen ANYONE with such pencil skills. Have a look at how the new Conan series is being done, from script to the final product:

And btw, i can really recommend this graphic novel to everyone. I have all three of the books and they keep my heart warm...

very cool.
the pencils are great, but the coloring doesn't do them justice unfortunately, imo.

I think that happens in most cases. But, particulary in this one, the beautiful pencil gets lost, although they decided not to use any ink over it...

I thought Cary stopped working on the Conan series? I was dissapointed when I read about that..I loved his work in those comics. Truly one of my favorite comics in terms of art.

Hmm...did he come back then? I sorta stopped collecting comics but I remember around the time of The Magisters Wife (when the writer and Cary were doing a small 2 parter side Conan project, probably about 6 months ago?) they announced he was leaving and a new artist was coming in. Well, I'm glad he's still doing them, I really liked his work on the series. I'll just have to wait til the graphic novels come out. I found I just couldn't keep up with monthly issues of anything, heh.

yeah, i think inking it would've helped alot instead of just coloring it.

Man those pencils are tight. Some of his composition and layout choices strike me as a bit odd, but I'm loving his style. I'll definitely have to check more of his stuff out.

man what are you guys talking about? this guys a clown compared to the old conan. John Buscema, Gil Kane!?! please..
this guys putting what 2 whole figures per page? then a bunch of close ups?..that shocked Conan's face is not working.
I'm not trying to hate on the guy, hes alright but when you guys praise him as something then i gotta step in.

that coloring is shit though. why the hell do they do that?
