meaning to redraw this.

i have had this pic for close to a year, i would like to redraw it. back then i didnt have a scanner, when i draw, i do a sketch then trace over it to refine it. this pic obviously has problems. plus i would do the gun now in 3d. i would like to be able to paint this character but im so terrible at painting. any ideas?

ey? no i drew it, but it needs redrawn wondering people suggestions.

I really dig the gun and the character, but since the gun is enormous it looks like he is about to topple over. If you drew him leaning a bit backwards, supporting the weight of the gun, it would look more balanced.

When it comes to the painting part, you got a good texture on the stock of the gun, adding some more texture to the characters clothes could make it more interesting or something. Or you can stay with the cellshading, 'cause that looks good to.
