Damn your evil... No i haven't:D you had to go think of somthing i let slip...

Evil i tell ya! eviiillll...........The basic idea is that they can be retracked or folded, so more of them can be compacted and stored together on the battleships. The description of the technology in the novel, describes it as being so advanced that it doesnt need tail fins to steer it. I thought it would look nicer if you could see some moving parts while in flight, like the gat guns or the cockpit shifting a bit.

This is a revised version of the fighters that you can see on the site. I was told in the beginning of the project to keep it simple for animation, but the art of the rest of the team pushed things to greater detail so i went back and changed the ships to keep up with the great designs they were doing. And the animation studio was proving they could handle it as well.

Josh, I'll get right on that shot for you boss! Thanks for the compliment.

Good, clean stuff, Chad. The first ship looks like it could almost be a toy you see on store shelves. The mechanicals look very convincing and well thought out.

I like the detail you put into the gun turrets on the second ship, but the guns look too small to really be effective. What's the purpose of the second ship--some sort of battle cruiser? If that's the case, I think the weaponry should be a little more intimidating without sacrificing the nice form too much.

I.WAS.INK: Actually that is a mix of everyone on my team.

They are all forum members here too Chris J Anderson, Sedone, and Ted Galaday aka SeaMinus.

Thanks for the compliments, Sedone pointed out to me that the fronts of the gun turrets looked like Trivial Pusuit pieces :D I hope i dont sound like i am bragging but i cannot ink technical drawings anyway other than clean at times. i want to have the loosness in my mech drawings sometimes and it makes me crazy, I guess it was all the time spent as an assistant inker years ago...

Nice work on the sketches. I like the sweeping arc toward the guns on the fighter. The larger cruiser has a really sleek look, and I like the intimidating line of turrets, but it seems distracting in the side view. Really clean work, thanks for posting. Anyone there paint these up yet?

Trivial Pursuit lol :p

The second one is definfetly my favorite. Its different than what ya normally see. Its kinda of battleship meets submarine meets sonic jet.

The first pic seems to have a perspective issue...I dont know....must be that damn lazy eye of mine:p

the barge is my favorite. its a different take on the ordinary with those circular cutlines going inverted instead.

Thanks people...

Cleptocat: it's not your eye I used one of the wrong perspective lines to place the Gun therfore it is not equally centered. I was too late in catching it after i inked it. I was wondering who would be the first to mention i was off...:D

Hey chad, what's up bro? Hope all is going well. Some very nice stuff as usual. I finally got a new scanner today so maybe I'll break away from the 3d to kick some drawings. Very inspiring stuff as usual!

GREAT designs, very well drawn.
I agree that it would be cool to see a drawing of it collapsed.
