Hey all, just a little question about bristrol board in pads. Im doing my annual order from dick blick and have previously gone for the strathmore 500 vellum, which is a little too textured for some of the work i do. Anybody know what the alternative is, it comes in smooth but how smooth?

Marko mentioned using bristol pads in his dvd, is there a standard brand you guys use? Its not really that common over in the uk anymore, think you can only buy it in sheet form and that is tough to find.

Cheers folks

I know my local HobbyCraft stocks it. Maybe try there. Don't know anything about it though I'm afraid. Good luck =]

hey dood,

I use bristol board alllll the time, and in my experience you can get it from most big art shops in pad form. I use an A3 Goldline 220gsm Bristol Board Pad, which is super smooth, either that or a winsor & newton 250gsb extra smooth bristol board pad, which are avaliable from hobbycraft or any other good art shop, or online of course. They are both suuuper smooth, so should be perfect.

hope this helps,

Eri
